Overview
Welcome to Evolution Climbing, it’s so easy to come and climb at our family friendly centre. We have climbing areas for children and adults of all ages and abilities, all you have to do is turn up during opening hours. No experience or booking is required to use the Bouldering (Un-roped Climbing) areas – Just turn up, pay and climb.At Evolution were really passionate about climbing. Our instructors treat every student as an individual. We work with you to improve your climbing skills, whether it’s a children's birthday party or specific tuition for experienced climbers. If you’re a beginner, just starting out, or an advanced veteran there will be something to challenge you here at our state of the art centre.
Our main climbing area contains a huge dedicated Bouldering area, a separate Top-Rope/Teaching area with a lead wall, Abseiling and Leap of Faith. In our reception building we also have a brand new Junior climbing area with over 30 problems designed specifically for younger children and novice climbers, it also has a fantastic 30 metre tunnel and a nice warm seating area for parents to enjoy a coffee.
Years of experience among the varying staff members, climbing know how, and dedication have gone into producing a centre widely regarded as the best in Southern England. Along with Harrison’s rocks on our doorstep makes Evolution Climbing the best place to learn to climb in southern England.
In short, Evolution Climbing provides the perfect individual, family or group activity for any weather.

Comparable to modern climbing centers, Evolution is now showing it's age. The limited hours and range of problems are not value for money. On the plus side it's fairly rare to find walls with molded features these days and there's a moderate range in the training room.
The guys do some great work with the nearby crags but please look into improving the center. I only provide this as honest feeedback in the hope a better venue is created in the area. If they don't then someone else will build another climbing center nearby.
Training room now fully mated after the main room's matting was replaced. Awsome bouldering center

The above is now fully up to date(Feb 08). New matting is being installed this spring and planning permission submitted for a new lead wall - Watch this space or the website evolutionclimbingwall.co.uk

Most of the above is now very out of date, I have tried to get UK Climbing to change it but with no luck. Check uot the website for accurate information.

Woody now has a mat and a pull up bar. Problems are good and being changed regularly.

Woody room now complete, no real mats but low enough to be safe.
Opening times have been modified due to low take-up AM. Individuals can now go from 1400-2200, booked groups from 1000.
The woody room is now scheduled for completion end of March 2003
