Notes
Abacus Mountain Guides provide skills training and guiding in mountaineering, mountain biking and canyoning in Scotland and the Alps. Our range of courses is always expanding and we specialise in providing exactly what you want. Creating the perfect day for you based on the prevailing weather and conditions, your previous experience and aspirations, is our challenge and what gives us the most satisfaction.

IFMGA Mountain Guide, Mountain Bike Leader and Canyon Guide Mike Pescod started the business with MIC Mountaineering Instructor Donald King in November 2000. After a decade of mountaineering adventures (ice climbing, scrambling, rock climbing, winter mountaineering) we've axpanded into Canyoning and Mountain Bike coaching and guiding.

Don't expect anything off the shelf, we only do designer courses!

Having gone through a number of outdoor courses and qualifications myself, I can honestly say I have never met a more enthusiastic or qualified instructor as Mike, this was especially remarkable as it was a mountain guide coaching mountain biking skills. Even if you are a skilled biker he has excellent local knowledge. Highly recommended.
