Overview

Originally starting as an adventure club at the Charlotte mason college, this well established club (one of the oldest in Britain) ran for many decades before being
Reformed in 2006 by Nick Lyons and Andy Mathers.
University Mountaineering Club: unfortunately you have to study at the campus to be in it.
Many excellent members,around 60+ per annum. We run at least five major trips per year including Snowdonia, Cairngorms, Northumberland, peak district, fontainbleau.

On 1st december 2009, The University of Cumbria announced that they will close the Ambleside campus (formerly Charlotte Mason College and st Martins college) to undergraduate students from 2009/10.
This unfortunately marks the end of the club in it's current state, however the 'old boys club' and current committee 09/10 have called for a review and restructure of the club so that the legacy can live on for yaers to come.
