Overview

Established in 1965, ISM is the foremost Alpine Climbing school for English-speakers. We are a group of Mountain Guides holding the international IFMGA/UIAGM qualification (highest award attainable in mountaineering). Our operational base is in the Swiss Alps. Activities include alpine mountaineering courses and 1:1 guiding throughout the summer, winter ice climbing, ski touring/off-piste skiing and expeditions to Central Asia and North America. We also offer rock climbing and mountaineering courses in North Wales and the Lake District and alpine training in the UK for all alpine activities.
