The roped climbing area is 272m squared, 8m high and has 25 rope lines. There are over 70 routes with grades from F3 to F7a+. All lines have quickdraws in place for leading.
The bouldering wall is 135m squared and 4.2m high. There are a variety of angled walls and a featured slab. There are 70 problems with grades from V0 to V8, set as circuits. At least one new circuit goes up each week. There is a complete cover of safety matting.
As of August 2013, anyone can come on one of our courses there is no requirement to be a gym member or signed in. We currently offer Inductions (£10), Movement Coaching (£10 or 3 for £20), Lead Climbing (£15) and Lead Coaching (£15) courses.
We also run five-week blocks of climbing-specific circuit training in our bouldering room (£20 members, £30 non-members). These are very popular. You do not have to be a gym member to take part.
Shoes (£2), harnesses, belay plates and chalk are available for hire at £1 each except for shoes or £3 for any combination. Schmoolz hire is available at £2 a session.
CSE members are allowed to sign in one guest per visit. The minimum age to climb is 16 unless you are part of a group. Three hour group sessions can be organised at £50 for up to 10 people. We've had private parties, organisations, schools, scouts and cadets. Please get in touch with your requirements.
We have fixed and free weights rooms, a CV gym, personal trainers, changing facilities with lockers and showers, saunas plus more.
