Restricted Access

No access problems. The area is part of the Eastern Edges SSSI designated for its assemblage of breeding birds - please make sure dogs are under control to protect birds and sheep: the grazier has reported losses.

Seasonal Restrictions

Reason: Nesting Birds

Ring ouzel nest sites change quickly and frequently as they often have several broods each year with different nest sites for each brood. On site signage will be up around any of the nest sites where climbing may impact on the birds and this is always up to date and accurate.

βeta: Only used about two hand jams as the crack gets too narrow, and you can reach up to the ledge (which wasn't as good as it looked as it was damp, and I fell off). Fun route.

βeta: Quite a nice ledge route, as long as you ignore the route-description of it being a jamming crack. I did it in flip-flops, and didn't need any jamming at all... And no, I'm not particularly tall.

βeta: At 6' 1" i found the jaming solid and brilliant, the crack just ran out too soon. Pulling past the top of the crack was quite strenuous and reachy and could see it possibly presenting problems for shorter climbers?
