wanted to lead it as it is my namesake, but out psyced myself. watched someone lead it as a layback extreamly gracefully and asked to second. couldnt get established in the layback and groveled my way up the offwidth instead. now that i know the break takes a cam i shall have to lead it next time.

Seduced by technology...after my forlorn efforts earlier today on Embankment 3 & Bond St we should have just bumbled around on VD/S/easy VS. However, I had been carrying around 3 mega cams (courtesy of Shad) alll day. As both MN & I had done before (Mike as solo in 1976!) and with a Camalot 6 for additional protection what could go wrong? The C6 protected the moves over the initial bulge but it took a while to get off the ground! Eventally, I threaded the chockstone & moved the C6 above it to protect the upper layback. What a torrid time I had. Eventually topped out, totally wasted. Placed C 0.75 (I think)in the next break and a C2 to protect the finishing moves. Off to the Millstone for some R&R!!!

Turned out to be harder than expected to place gear in the break at 3/4 height so I just kept going - felt a bit bold. Didnt feel soft HVS. The crux is getting established in the layback by the chockstone, whch I thought was worth 5a - maybe I got it wrong.
