The fine arete is one of the unsung gems of Froggatt. A tough start leads up flakes then a hard move gains a break and gear. From here pull up to gain and enjoy the rounded finish. Classic. © Rockfax

Brilliant climbing all the way - worth getting midged to buggery for. Hot and sweaty afternoon, which made the slopery grovel at the top a bit exciting. Had previously checked where the holds were though.
Jake and Alice
got through start, slipped from around 5 meters, hurt my finger tips. head not in it, life was getting strange.
fell off years ago. steady this time around, but fantastic!
excellent route. first route I've fallen off and been glad cos it means I get another go! no messing around with side runners or starts.
Cracker. Proper E4.
Doable but hard work, some gear. Need much more stamina
put some runners in from the other route before committing to the start
on will's gear.
will, little tom

Great climb. Bad idea to warm up on it, got deadly pumped...
Wimped out of at the start. Then stuck a top-rope on it and v glad I didn't push on. It's not as easy as it looks after the boulder problem start. Will go back though, with a matt :)
Wicked route, Found the start hard, but got it after afew goes (quite sweaty.) All good after that.
Got up to the first gear break and couldn't take a hand off to place gear. Retreated (jumped) rather than going higher. Superb route, one of the best i've been on!
Variation E2 5c
Tom Welch, David
Got to top section just before rest & slumped on gear. Must go back.

Brilliant route. Certainly one of the best things I've done.
Fluffed the boulder start on first go, got it clean second go, will be back to lead. Tough, but awesome!
Mark Watson, Chris Fox
Mega classic. Committing at the start. Climbed with two cams preplaced (but unclipped) in the first good break. Had one false start and jumped off before the break, then went for it...
Chris Fox, Pete Hart
2 rests, went through crux ok, tired and wrong handed at top. magical route, to be led soon.
Bouldered the start with 2 falls, then made it to the break on the third atempt. Placed gear but fell off on the next move, too tired to try again.
Incredible moves, something to aspire to!
A brilliant route which gives so much awesome and sustained climbing. First Grit E4. Very safe and totally enjoable if climbed in this fashion. Ground Up ascent with preplaced cams in Fisherman break from neighbouring HS above the bouldery start.

A stunning hidden gem. I used to think Moonwalk was THE E4 on grit.......
Chris Cubitt, Dan Walker
after alex and on his gear. Tricky first arete took a couple of goes.

First proper E4 and what a good one it was. totally involved all the way. slapping at a scary height above the ground and grovelling onto a bland top. beautiful.
