From Bellingham take the westerly minor road just after the bridge and opposite the cemetary. Follow this for 3 miles and turn up to High Cairpeth farm. Park on the verge just before the farm between the sheep pen and sheds. Let Mrs Johnson the farmer (friendly) know you are going up. No dogs.

Take the good track towards the cottage but branch off partway aiming for a gate on the skyline. Go through this and follow a vague track leftwards around the minor rocks, then after a few hundred yards branch right to the crag itself.

10m. Start on the right hand side of the arete, climb easily up and right to reach a nubbin high on the wall. Use this to rock over, heart in mouth, onto the stunning clean slab. Finish direct with a rong reach for the pocket. A stunning climb which was well ahead of it's time when first climbed.

Tommy Smith 1979.
