Crux ice pillar was leaning over to give an easy, but very photogenic angle. Immense fun on good ice!

A bit weird formation; perhaps due to wind blowing up the valley. We climbed a ramp like free standing pillar. Very funky. Spectators thought it was dubious but perfectly sound when you got on it.

Marvellous climb. Scary step out into space at 2/3 height onto a thin tongue of ice that looks like it shouldn't hold the weight of anything more than a small dog. Belay well back on blocks. Don't know why Welsh Winter climbs doesn't give this stars. Randomly came across Adam and his brother ed while soloing in Idwal. Ed led the pitch and kindly offered me a rope. I wouldn't have dared soloing it as there were some steep sections, particularly one bit where it was slighly overhanging and you had to trust your foot on a spur of ice that looked like it was going to fall off under pressure.
