An epic! The bolts seemed to run out halfway up the arete. I ended up wandering about 10m off to the right where a TV sized block came out of the wall and bounced off my knee. I managed to stay on. Rob was only bother about the fate of his mobile in his bag, it had landed on it after plummeting past him. I meandered up the rest of the cliff without protection. I searched the top for a belay. Rob was unwilling to anchor using the distant tree and attempted to climb up to me via a muddy gully. As I attempted to take the rope in, Rob's belay, still on the rope jammed into the 1st runner. I heard a cry for help and peered over to find Rob halfway up the steepening gully gripped. Unable to continue nor decend. I had to throw him the short length of spare rope, dig my heals in, for there was no belay and haul him up. Rob however redeemed himself after the epic by soloing up to get the runners back.
