Climbed at end of long day scrambling so was tired and found chockstone crux very difficult! Hard for the grade.

Thoroughly enjoyed this route but yes, that chockstone required some thought! Left foot behind you on a small flake unlocked it but harder than any other grade one move I've done.

Glad to read some of the comments here, chockstone step quite a challenge, thought the 1* would be ok, much more difficult than the other 1* I have done, its quite an exposed step as a solo, being spotted would have helped a little, but still a scary propect. Some exposed ledges / commiting scrambling further up too. Was very pleased to finish.

never grade 1 atleast grade 3 for the chockstone move, felt more like Diff!. (when did you ever hear of a grade 1 scramble being winter III,4!!). Quite nice but not amazing.

First time I did this one, I found the chockstone move very hard. Second time around, it was much easier as I found a much better way of doing it. Use the jugs on top to and smear up the small slab then make an exposed but easy step left to pass the chockstone. Maybe just about a Grade 2 move, certainly nothing more. There is plenty scope for making the upper part of the route more interesting if you take everything direct. A decent scramble.

Certainly not grade 1 and maybe even harder than grade 2. Chockstone was a steep learning curve - rucksack off then squirm up left [in hindsight chockstone nudges route into grade 3]
