Rockfax Description
A good but short-lived route that follows a pleasant line. Start by walking up to the left of the prominent triangle of the Alphabet Slab to below the gully.
1) Start up the gully and over the first tricky chockstone. This can prove to be a stopper for some scramblers in which case a graceful retreat is called for - consider East Gully.
2) Above the chockstone, the gully is comparatively easy and it soon joins the line of East Gully which comes in from the right. Follow it up and left to the top or alternatively descend East Gully. © Rockfax

βeta: This is different to the winter climb Main Gully, which climbs a completely different major fault well over to the right

βeta: Fun route once past the awkward chockstone, I jammed my foot into the prominent crack to the left to gain the first foothold

βeta: Hard for a G1+ and would say it was more like a grade 2. Went in September, was wet and extremely slippy. Tricky, awkward moves that felt quite exposed required removing backpack and pulling up separately with rope. Rope was also needed to help me over a couple of sections as it was very reachy - bit tricky for a short person of 5ft3 and would not recommend if it has rained in the few days before.
