Cave Route Right*** E6 6b
32m. The soaring line of Cave Route Right yields a superb climb. There is much fixed gear but extra wires are still required. With these in place it is 7b+. The main dificulties are the bulge at 8m, the shallow niche at 1/3 height and the peg pockets below the often-wet upper crack. A second pitch climbs out of the cave at 6a. © ROCKFAX

Strength left me while I tried to fashion a rest at the bottom of the top crack line on the on sight. Got it first red point. Required a few wires in the first crux and I backed a peg up in the top crack. Perfectly clean and dry - a mega classic trip

Draws on the bolts and pegs, and a few wires in situ, for a superb 7b+ tick.

The best route on Yorkshire Limestone. Blew the onsight near the top. Ran out of QD's (took 20. Gave it a good brush off and did it clean next go with gear still in place. (Much better gear these days.)

Fell off once near the top. Damn. Virtually a clip up back in the day apart from one friend and one nut. Didn't do pitch 2. Would be sport 7b.
