The New Girdle Traverse >>
[Spekes Buttress, 2 kb]50m, 3 pitches. Start at extreme right end of crag, just as grassy gully turns left, below tree. 1st pitch -Climb loose groove down aand right of tree to the start of Halan (quartz block). 2nd Pitch - Climb Halan (up & left) until the difficult move onto sloping ledge.Begin rising traverse up and right to niche below overlap. Pull through onto slab, finish direct. (Route in new Llanberis guide, 2009)

Hidden - 2012

Led P1 then we bailed because of torrential rain. Better than it looked. I dropped my shoes on the path down and watched in horror as then rolled all the way to the boulders at the bottom of the crag. Spent ages finding them in the pouring rain. Denied.

Hard start on loose rock, tech crux is the move on Halan. Very poor gear on exposed traverse to more looseness. Pretty full on experience but wwith more people on it, it definatly has potential.
