From the Middle Ledge, easily climb the rib just to the right of No.4 Gully and left of F Buttress until the Rake is reached. Then traverse left across the Amphitheatre and ascend the Great Slab (easy but very loose). The 'escape' is via a broken arete of good rock a little way left of the North Ridge. The arete has some good situations and at least one step of Moderate climbing.

Wanted to do the Amphitheatre North Ridge, which is better, but bad weather forced me to use this escape route (which proved to be entertaining enough in its own right).
