βeta: The East Ridge used to be a snow route but now due to glacial retreat is a rock ridge. From the Paffensattel head up towards the start of the rock, the first section is more or less straight up, the route then goes left to gain better rock then up to the summit. The route is well marked with red paint and there are large fixed "steel hooks" for most of the way which are designed to be used as running belays.
