The Devils Drainpipe IV 4/5
[No longer a FA, done before in 96 by an Irishman ., 3 kb]50m. Ten metres to the right of The Sting lies a narrow right to left Diagonal ice/ mixed line clearly visible from the Idwal footbridge (exceptional winter spells required).
Take a short steep ice step then weave right into a shallow diagonal corner of ice and follow this to the top in a long 50m pitch. Belay on the Goat path with poor belays or belay just below the top on good ice. Intermediate belay possible at a spike around mid height.

This climb is in 3 logbooks, and on no wishlists.

A varied route, and quite technical (climbing on ice, turf, nieve and rock). 2 umbrellas passed round as they were far to thin to climb on. Done in 2 pitches, involving a short III pitch to the main ice fall.
