Bottom pitch good ice. Did original top pitch traversing out right - in book as 4, 'exposed traverse' good 5 on the day. Very poor spaced placements and gear well spaced -needs commitment from second as well as lead. Good job from Su to get it clean. Took belay just beyond crux. Final section suggested going to end of ledge - guarded by a half metre slab loosely propped against the face on the ledge -would require hooking over it. Did a stiff but short crack line instead. Rained nearly all day, miserable walk out. Want to come back for the new top pitch as it looks ace.
