βeta: It is quite difficult to find the base of the route, but luckily someone has written a big 'C' in orange spray paint at the base (L'an de Émile has a big LAN). The first bolt is missing a hanger, but we were able to scramble quite high up and belay from the second bolt fairly easily. The final two pitches were a little tricky to locate. It's necessary to join the masses on the SE ridge of the Index for a short pitch (a couple of cams are useful) before moving downwards and leftwards to a large ledge, next to L'an de Émile.
