A mountaineering classic in a beautiful setting,superb climbing and exposed scrambling following an exhilarating ridge, allow 6-8 hours for the full traverse.Although the climbing is fairly straightforward successful teams should be familiar with the necessary techniques and skills required to move quickly on this type of terrain.All abseil stations are equipped with in situ tat and maillions.This description is for the easiest line but it can be made harder if preferred.(1)Climb the 'Thumb' by the East Ridge (225m) and scramble up the exposed ridge which has some awkward steps to the top,descend to the top of a gully overlooking the 'Clock Tower' abseil 45m to a col.(2)Climb up and over the 'Clock Tower' and descend carefully (Loose) into another wide col.(3)Ascend the 'East Face of the Index finger' and scramble over the top to a wide sloping ledge above the 'White Corner' across from the slabs.Abseil 30m to a large ledge and scramble down to another col.(4)Climb Hunts Slab Left Hand Route (22m), a long and interesting scramble leads to the top of a steep gully where a short steep abseil(10m)leads to the base of it,traverse right (looking out) over a smooth slab to another tree and abseil down the gully to the base (50m)trend up and left to re-join the ridge (3rd finger), more interesting scrambling leads up and over to the top of 'Green Gully' descend the gully and climb 'Hone direct' (93m) or by-pass by climbing over the gully and descending the ridge on top of the 4th finger, easier scrambling leads down towards the end of the ridge, either continue along and exit by a wide vegetated gully on the Southwest or head North with the Sentinel on you right hand side and in view towards the track which runs along the base of the crag, do not continue to the extreme western end of the ridge as steep crags are below.
