Thought it stiff for a HS but not quite sure if it rates VS though. The first two cruxes are very committing but have great gear and go with surprisingly little fuss once you work them out. The chimney has a trick to it too but is still a mighty thrutch - but a pleasant one. Found a sling and screw gate someone had dropped in the lower crack - long arms and a nut key helped. All in all a sample of everything grit has to offer in one route. Three star from me. In fact one of my favourite routes.

Climbed coming in from the right which is excelent! This is awkward HS 4b! Anyone who thinks this is VS needs to climb the bulger, A nice route and good wide crack practice. Certainly not VS 4b as it's neither pumpy nor run out there is far too much misuse of the VS 4b grade on grit as it is IMO!

Tried the right-hand start first but couldn't traverse across into the crack system. Found the first part of the crack which took hand-jams sparsely protected and very commiting. Felt amazing to finally top out - definitely 3 stars. Peak District: Climbing grades this route HS 4b but it definitely felt VS 4b.
