Winter climb, Heavy snow, white out at summit

Aborted attempt on South-East ridge of the South peak due to high winds and generally rubbish conditions. Bagged the summit again instead.

A day out up the hill, visibility above above 650m varied as the clouds blew over in the relatively windy conditions. Brill day. Boggy along the descent to the river on the south side and to rejoin the path.

Park in the layby to SW of the hill and handrail the treeline towards the summit. Leave treeline and take the bearing route through boulder field (technical in winter conditions) towards S peak. At top of boulders, contour clockwise to join 'tourist track' for final 100m to summit. Crampons and axes advised in winter!
