Parked at Forest Lodge car park and Carsphairn town. Walked along good road up to the edge of the forest and then picked up a small trail off to the right taking us up on to the hump. Picked up a wall that took us all the way on to Meikle Millyea (cairn and good trig, didn't go to the second cairn. Continued alongside the wall on to Milldown. Wall ended here but a good visible (boggy) path up to Corserine and the trig point. Bert and Fee dropped off here and Rosie & I carried on to Carlin's Cairn - very close to Corserine and a good path again. Cairn was high and hollowed out - welcome break from the wind! From here on to Meaul where we picked up a different wall, then dropped our backpack and steep descent to traverse to Craigsgarroch. Back the way we came, picked up our bags and then on to Bow and Corran of Potmark. Out on a more direct route to pick up the road out to the main road and Carsphairn.
3 hrs, 30 mins. Snowy conditions. Accompanied by Bill Harley. 8 miles.
Approx. Walked in from Loch Trool
