βeta: On the first ascent "the pull through the roof" section went up Ashop Crack (which now appears to be the crux of that route but at the time it was the easiest section of this route so presumably something has changed). The bottom wall was probably just about 5b but the route was graded E1 5a because the (bold but slightly technically easier) crux was at the top and E1 5b wouldn't have conveyed the nature of the route correctly. | βeta? | |
