The Shield >>
22m. Takes the prominent crack/groove that that Thin on Top starts up. Relatively easy for the grade but some unobvious moves. The rock at the bulge seemed dubious during cleaning therefore the bolts were placed out on the L arete to keep rope and leader out of the line of fire if they should let go. Some clips are therefore awkward. The rock now feels reasonably sound so maybe this was over-cautious. Start as for Thin on Top to the flat hold at 6 m (or use the pillar just to the R) then continue directly up the groove with interest instead of moving L. 7 bolts (1st two shared with Thin on Top)
