Escape left up grassy ledge.

At first very nervous especially with a long traverse and arete within the route. The traverse went very well, no problems, but arete's are my weak point and I ended up Aid Climbing my way past! The Arete was probably the crux move in whole climb!

climbed straight up instead of traversing left, the chimney crack gets a lot trickier!! when i realised it was a lot harder than S I got lowered back down to the ledge where the route goes left and started again. I climber a good 10m above this point... will have to read the guidebook with more care next time...

P1 Em, P2 me. Definately worthy of the 3 stars and classic status. Beautiful climbing. Loved the rib. The first traverse was going to make for huge rope drag but long runners made big step towards significantly reducing it. Done in sunny conditions and most enjoyable route of day. Felt easier than severe or easy end of that grade.

Had an epic with me Erb DJ. I lead the first pitch, but being our first climb of the day, didn't really read the guide book and just went for it. Started out right and placed some gear. This gear should have had a really log runner, as it caused my one half of the rope to be useless due to the drag. I got to the line according to the guide, which shows you going up just right of a small niche. Drop some nuts. Went up, felt like E4 and fell. Got up, DJ told me I needed to go around left more onto an arête. Went up the arête and powered through with loads of drag, to the point I drew blood from my fingers. Turns out I had to climb down, as the rope got snagged. Bit of an epic, but thoroughly enjoyable! The guide, Ground Up, North Wales rock shows the line incorrectly to the description, so be prepared!

Good climb. Quite polished in places. Not technically hard. Just scary. Climbed on a single rope so ended up getting loads of rope drag after the traverse. Accidentally climbed out onto the arete too much to the left. This meant I missed the belay point so ended up doing the whole thing in 1 pitch. Glad we had a 60m rope.

Mike Hillman. In Barfords book there is a pic with someone on a stance with a holly halfway across to the rib. I had just put a runner on the holly when the ledge dropped off. I retired for two fags before continuing.

OUMC meet.Colin Mortlock fixed me up with Bob Caulkwell for the week. Went to Cwm Sylin couldnt see anything for fog, went to Tremadoc to do a VD got off route (me leading)and had a desperate time, so went back to the Pass.
