A great adventure with a real mountaineering feel. Bomber turf on the 150m of very steep grass approaching the rock proper. The first crux was a tricky slab, short but tougher than the grade in mixed conditions, this must be the Severe graded climbing in the lower section mentioned in NHN. We never found or did the "traverse across the face of the buttress to the right" also mentioned, instead we stuck to the ridge proper. The ridge eased in difficulty toward the top but the views then of the huge face between Petticoat Ridge and Bell's Ridge which both rise to the North Ridge are spectacular. A great day, a real adventure, 11hrs. Steve Perry - Lead O/S - 09/Feb/13 with Katie Long
