[Mark Leah approaching the big ledge on The Third Scoop, Mam Tor, 2 kb]100m, 3 pitches. Takes the third scoop of Mam Tor's main face starting left of the buttress taken by Right Hand Route. An exctingly exposed route that allows you to savour the unique ambience Mam Tor face climbing without too much stress! 1.Start up a shallow gully making for the right end of the lowest shale band of the face. 2.A steep couple of moves up turf-covered shale allows one to turn a steep crumbling cliff on its right side, before heading back left up less steep turf to another shale outcrop and ledge. 3.Follow the steep turf up and leftwards following shallow upper scoop, weaving around small outcrops until reaching the summit area not far from the top of Hare Hare Route.

Soloed it as only my 5th winter climb and felt sufficiently out of my depth- scary but great fun nontherless! Looks like a potential summer route too...
