|Black Slab †|| S 4a|
|12m. A few steps left to a ledge. Climb right to discover the easiest route up to the slab centre to a traverse line at two-thirds hight. Go left to the arete and finish direct or by a deviation right again. (from guidebook)
<Which guidebook - do you mean Hargreaves Original Route?|

The description is from Paul Nunn's "rock climbing in the Peak District" (1975!) it's basically a dodge to the left of the cruxes of both Macleod's and Hargreave's, so is actually the line of least resistance up the slab. (I was going to do Hargreave's, but chickened out!)
