The most central steep gully on the NE Face. The entrance is marked by a large pinnacled rib on the right-hand side. Steep snow until a narrowing with an easy grade II chimney, until the gully fans out onto steep snow leading to the ridge of Bidean.

Definitely a distinct route from just "North-East Face". First recorded ascent?? This will surely have been climbed before, but it is a distinct and worthwhile gully that deserves a name, and "Gateway Gully" is as good as any.
