Very little track and fresh snow made this seem a pretty committing way down. Seracs were carving too as we got to Hohsaas.

lizard-16-07 16/Sep/14 AltLd

BRILLIANT scrambling and final ridge to the summit (climbed from Almagellerhutte.) Glad for the track on the way down.

Mike_Bottom 06/Sep/14 -

First Alpine Route... First lift to Hohsaas at 7:45. Well worn track all the way, fair few crevasses to cross on the glacier. ascent easy enough, steep snow slope all the way. 3 hours up, 1.5 down (guidebook time) A little daunting walking through the ice debris at the bottom of the NW flank. Seracs look quite unstable, we saw a reasoanble sized collapse from the west face.

caradoc 22/Aug/14 -

8.30am start, 12.30pm finish. The route was much more worrying than my previous ascent in 2008. The seracs looked far more unstable, more crevasses, avalanche debris, could be an accident waiting to happen.

Not a route I would like to repeat. Massive objective danger. Still a nice plod and good views from the summit. Took 4 hours 15 minutes. Slightly over guidebook time. 2 hours descent.

Felt much stronger than on the Lagginhorn. Great route - quite easy from Hohsas to summit. Fantastic narrow snow ridge from summit to start of rock scrambing descent. Really enjoyed it - my kind of route! Once again, good weather, not much wind. Great views.

Absolute doddle of a snow plod, how can it have the same grade as Dufourspitze? Comedy grade. Tres Facile. Not much to it - fair acclimatisation though.
