Rockfax Description
Climb the sustained central crack in the back wall of the alcove. Well glossed and well protected - it eases with height. © Rockfax

Not too polished, worth the 2 stars

GermanAlex 20/Sep/15 Lead O/S

Nails. I didn't think the (slight) polish distracted at all, some really good moves in the lower section lead to quite a pump-fest. Traversed into Tria just as the rock gave way to slippery grass.

Sustained. Pumpy. Polished. Loads of gear until the very slopey, grassy topout. Harder than Tria. Good climb. Campussed part of mid-section as just didnt trust the polished footholds.

plenty of holds, plenty of good old fashioned bomber gear - no cams required. You can see the polish, but it doesnt affect the climbing.

Not the nicest bit of the crag and the route is well worn but much better than it looks. Thankfully the cloudburst waited until I was on the upper grassy slope before dumping its icy load on me.

This is a really good climb, as long as Hard Severe isn't top of your price range. Strenuous, sustained, and a bit shiny, but if you approach it as a VS then its quality climbing on a clean solid rock, on a good natural line. An unsung gem.

at 3/4 up the pitch, fiddling with gear slipped on seriously polished area and took rather spectacular dive to end swinging upside down. But I suppose its always good to get a new perspective on a problem.
