[Direct Route, Cheesewring.
© Old_Nick_S, Jul 2010, 2 kb]The easy-angled staggered ridge on the right-hand side of the wall is a fine feature but completely devoid of protection. Start 2m to the right of the arete. 14m. Move left up ledges to join the arete. Follow the arete delicately all the way to the top on flat holds. © ROCKFAX

not one single runner - vs in guidebook makes sense

Agree with Tom and Sam, the VS 4a in the guidebook. This would be a serious undertaking/mistake for a Severe leader.
manbat - 2nd O/S - 07/May/14 with Tom Palmer

No protection and covered in moss

Don't really see how a 4a move 60 ft off the ground, without a single runner can be severe...
D Berry - Lead O/S - 11/Oct/10 with Claire Berry

The arete looked reasonable but the quick glance at the guidebook didn't alert me to the fact that there was no protection at all. Very unnerving at the hardest move (near the top). I don't make a habit of soloing VS (the guidebook says VS anyway)

Backed off Central route as I couldn't get to the layback crack at the beginning due to the dominant blackberry bush and the general green and wet feel to everything. Thought I would just wizz up the direct route instead. Interesting gear placement :-)
nickstephens - Lead O/S - 28/Sep/09 with Nancy Jones

no gear so was basically a solo for ales
