Tried it on Andy's gear pre-clipped, first bit up to the ledge was really nice but couldn't see the moves after.

Rob wanted to get the buoldering mat and just go for it but as we had a rope up I thought we'd give it a go on a rope. glad we did...it's nails! Getting to the thread is straight forward but above that it get very hard and it's a long way to the security of better holds and gear. Very good climbing though.

Nails! Enjoyable pocket pulling to the ledge, then it gets desperate! Had three goes, falling on the thread. On the first two goes I didn't see the slot up and right of the bolt head. Also ended up falling with Brian's end of the rope between my legs. Didn't hurt but trousers got trashed - burnt through / ripped by the rope! On the third go, I found the slot, which seemed ok, but was too boxed to make use of it. Worryingly, not clear that it's possible to get any more gear until after the crux section.

Pretty tricky to lead, gear good but hard to place as some of it is required to be placed blind.

Exciting stuff. I had to run it out from the thread into the blocky groove at the top as I couldn't get any gear to stick and I was in an awkward position to place it anyway. Felt more like E3/4 5c to me as none of the moves was very hard but the start and finish were bold.

Good climbing through first 2 thirds then a grotty groove! would get 2 star if it had a bolt lower off!
