Why would anyone 'go right' of the bolt? Missed out bigger holds on left but little difference 6c+

Made an effort to do this route avoiding the holds out left. Hardest climb of the day so maybe soft 7a or hard 6c+

Saw Gareth try the first part so somewhere between on-sight and flash. Didn't exactly go right of the bolts (as in the F7a version in the guidebook), but went parallel with them up slightly desperate crimps, avoiding the good holds out left. Going left would certainly have been easier so I assume this counts as 'direct'? Felt as hard as other 7a's at the crag e.g. Gimp Crimp, although I'd give that route 6c+ at most.

Easier than expected, again hard to find the holds but they are OK once located.
