Not bad for a first winter climb. Moved together most of the time, Anne took a fall at the crux. I lead the last bit over the cornice, and we got lost on plateau in a blizzard looking for 1141. Incredibly fun.

After a rest/ski day the previous day, we were keen to get something done and figured that half a day's thaw can't have made that much of a difference. It did! The buttresses were black and running with meltwater, with the gullies offering the only wintery way up. Decided to do this for the sake of getting something done. My soggiest ever winter climbing experience! Wet snow plus meltwater blown about by the vicious wind. Axes proved handy to get over a few small bulges and for the top out (going right to avoid the steep rocky bit) but didn't need crampons. Would have been ok if it had been frozen...

Really busy in Coire an t'Sneachda today. Sat eating breakfast in car and watched about 150 folk walk up the path. Battled in through the wind and clag to find people taking a long time on the route we wanted to do so just soloed up this. Completely worth it for the gorgeous view and blue skies at the top.

First ever ice climb! It was really fun and a good way to ease myself into it. The route was just front pointing and daggering up to the cornice and then I had to grab my axes further down and do some moves that felt a bit more interesting, which got me totally psyched to do some more! It was only 10.20 when we got to the top and I was really up for going back down and trying to do something harder but realistically there probably wasn't time. Roll on tomorrow!

refresher for the coming winter. started late from carpark and topped out into the moonrise. Gully walls were well rimed up and we used bucket belay's throughout. Conditions under foot were good consisted of powdery snow on surface, a crust of ice beneath then firmer snow under that. The cornice was powdery and made topping out a bit less of a formality. Enjoyed it
