First pitch was good, second pitch wasn't in condition so we abbed off. Needs more ice build-up to bind the loose rock together. Even so it looked pretty stiff for IV!

Kyle lead P1 to 3m below the chimney and I attempted to lead P2 (to enter the chimney proper). After a few metres, I found rocks are not bonded at all, and were crumbling. There was no ice or snow in the chimney, despite the fact there was a good chandelier of ice up and left and loads of snow everywhere else. The temperature was unexpectedly high (4 degC) against the forecast of the freezing temperature. We abbed off.
