Hong Kong Rock Description
45m. A dramatic outing that navigates a route up the centre of the impressive rear wall of The Zawn. A reasonable first pitch provides the send off for ‘the out of port' experience on the exposed, upper headwall. No points for climbing only pitch one!
1) 6c - 25m - 14 Bolts. Climb up the ladder rungs and continue up the corner to a brief rest on a narrow foot ledge. Blind moves left lead onto a blunt rib from which better holds exist around the corner. Climb the enjoyable crackline to a sloping ledge.
2) 7a+ - 20m - 11 Bolts. Step left from the belay and gingerly rock over leftwards onto the slab. Wave goodbye to your belayer then start a rising leftward traverse out across the wall to reach a groove leading up slightly right to a large horizontal break. Somehow move off the break to become established on the headwall then engage full ahead up a ‘Bachar Ladder' of slopers. A final move right gains a hanging bolt belay. © Hong Kong Rock
