Great route. Psyche slightly dented by witnessing guy abseiling down main slab knock off about 8 football sized blocks that smashed into the face of the E2 further right of Armorican before bouncing into sea - would have been grim if anyone was climbing those routes up the centre of the slab. Don't abseil down the main face - use the groove of the Diff!!

Absolutely superb. A must do route, deservedly top 50 even in Pembroke. The moves just feel so good and the climbing just flows. Seconded it behind Mark and then just went back down and led it.

When you look up from the base it seems hard to believe that anything is VS as it is so spectacularly intimidating. However everything on this slab / wall is simply fantastic climbing and the super-positive holds just keep arriving. Technical and delicate but not strenuous in a stunning position. So it turns out that due to being too eager and misinterpreting the guide I actually did the first half of Age Concern (E3 !) and then joined Armorican just below its crux on the steep section. Delighted with the ease with which I climbed the 5b part of the former but annoyed at being so dumb as to miss half of the latter. My favourite route ever.

Disappointed that I bottled out of leading this due to the echoes of the numerous comments in these log books saying it is poorly protected and hard rolling around in my head! Very nice, consistent upper VS grade slab climbing. Perfectly sufficient gear. Only aggravating factor is its appearance! Standing at the bottom looking up it is hard to believe it can be the grade it is. Plan to leave this until I've forgotten it and then lead it properly.

The definition of VS 4c to me. Small gear is quite useful low-down but not essential. Pretty much blank after the overlap but the climbing is MUCH easier. Didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped but then I had a migraine from about 2/3 the way up and had to do a lot of feeling around for holds/gear as I couldn't really see.

In the dark after tea. A totally brilliant route. The darkness just added to the atmosphere. It's certainly nowhere near HVS or 5a, although the interest is sustained throughout.
