Clevor Trevor** 6c
16m. Excellent and serious climbing. Start up a shallow water-stained groove just left of the starting cracks of The Last Straw. Boldy move up the wall to gain a thin crack at the small overhang. Make a series of difficult moves up the crack to reach easier climbing and the top. © ROCKFAX

Trevor is just over the border from where we're based at the moment. Spent a few hours trying out sport routes on the Railway Buttress, after a summer spent focusing on bouldering when it came to a warmup on a 4+ it was uncomfortable getting my head around the rope. As a boulder it would have been fine, but as a lead it was unnerving. The base of the buttress slopes away with a steep little mound and everything culminated to an hour setting up an easy climb. Once the climb was set up, the 6a which shared the line looked much more comfortable. If it weren't for our minds we'd all be awesome climbers.

I would of had this first time if there weren't huge amounts of water and slime on the face, as I rested twice to wipe the muck of my hands. This begs the question, why did I even try it? However I didn't fall so i'm happy, and I did it in the end. I want to do this as the original trad route, E4 6a
