Mortality Crisis** E4 6a
[Brian Hannon going for it past the top peg on Mortality Crisis, E4 6a, just before the heavens opened!, 3 kb]

Rockfax Description
Reasonably-protected wall climbing linking some subtle features on the face right of Inkerman Groove. Start as for Machete Wall.
Follow Machete Wall until below the short white corner. Move up left to a ring peg and then up to a horizontal break. Take the shallow, left-trending groove, peg, to another peg at its end and make difficult moves left onto the edge of Inkerman Groove at an ivy patch. Move right, thread, and up to meet the top of a thin crack-line on the right, thread. Easier climbing gains the finish of Inkerman Groove. © ROCKFAX

2nd Pete and Brian last year. Toproped and checked gear and moves. Then lead.Moves past the first pegs were the scariest for me.

Fell off at the end of the groove into the old peg after struggling to clip that ring bolt.. Second go I was too tired after the hard sections and ran away up inkerman groove. Ace climbing
James Oswald - Lead dog - 08/Apr/15 with Ian Burton

a shame about all the threads and bolts (5 currently) when there is tonnes of other gear available. turns an otherwise excellent E4 into a semi-clip up. good climbing. a little silly moving back right at the top when you are basically in Inkerman Groove.

Another one put to bed after failing to get it clean last year.

Did it this time, after previous fall when attempting onsight. Excellent route with good protection.

Mega. I TR-ed Black Death when I first started climbing and so was always saving this. Brilliant technical climbing that is for the most part well protected. All the Cassin rings are brand new, threads in good nick, plus you get some sinker small wires. One peg in the groove is poor but it is not crucial.
Duncan Campbell - Lead O/S - 26/Jun/14 with Brian Hannon, Pete Saunders

Fell just after second ring peg due to shoddy footwork - then the heavens opened. Will try again soon. Very good climbing.

Really good climbing. Top section of route gives exposure and technical moves with decent holds! Spicy I believe... Had to take a rest as my shoes have little amount of traction on limestone (Cramping out).

A poor effort.
