Between fern crack and the shield feature, without using holds in the crack or bridging to the edge of the shield, sit start at two flakey crimps. Make moves up to a small but positive 2 finger pocket, then a big move up to an inset square sloper and side pull just to the left of the fern crack, finish a couple of moves later on the good flat hold left of the fern crack used on the shield traverse. Slightly eliminate, but fairly obvious with some good crimpy climbing.
