Intended to climb Bowfell Buttress but there were queues at the bottom of the route with climbers seemingly on every belay. Queues were static so we opted for this route. Climbed in 3 pitches. Led 1st & 3rd. First pitch was the crux. Minimal ice/neve build-up made the line shown in the guidebook very stiff. Climbed a short way up but then backed off due to difficulties and took a line slightly to the left to a good belay platform 30-40m up. From here the climbing was progressively easier. First pitch tech 5, second pitch tech 4, third pitch 2/3.
