Tried to lead the first pitch, couldn't find any reasonable gear before the initial groove so I handed the reins over to Andy. Route got harder and harder so I stayed gibbering as a second. Pitches felt something like 5, 5, 6, 6 to me but it was pretty much out of my league so difficult for me to say! Very little ice or frozen turn so it was hunting for small hooks under a thick covering of snow the whole way. We bailed from a large block very near the top as darkness, exhaustion, dehydration and the beginnings of hypothermia were sucking the fun out of the party. Got back to civilisation just in time to call off the mountain rescue callout our worried friends had put in. An incredible day!

Meant to lead a pitch. Martin won coin toss for first, i backed off second on first move, let martin have a crack at 3rd cos its THE pitch, then it was dark for the last one and knew martin would be quicker. Top quality route, no consolidated snow, basically dry tooling.

Beautiful cloudless day - even had sunshine for the belays atop p2 & p4! No ice nor good turf, just unconsolidated powdery snow so it felt a little insecure in places but overall a fantastic outing. There were two other teams on the route after us.
