Loved this. Great line, lovely moves. Gear doesn't seem great on first aquaintance but you're never required to place it from pumpy positions so it's a pleasure to hang around, dither, explore all the options and discover there's always something pretty bomber close-by. I thought this was well worth the 3 stars. Birds singing, a beautiful early summer evening and doing it with your big bro may admittedly effect star rating opinions.

Not sure why it's in the rockfax top 50 as it is quite dull. Maybe good if it is at the top of your grade but I found the lower scoring cracks on cracked butress much better. The last section is short on gear which raises the eyebrow a little.

Hard move to get off the ground. Failed first time but got up on the arete on repeat attempt. Tricky traversing across. Temptation is to hang onto finger hold but need to let go to make progress. Shuffle feet along ledge and get onto bump. Extra height allows forearm mantleshelving along sloping ledge.

A classic, and certainly not basic at its grade. The first few moves which are unprotected are probably the hardest, a off balance sequence. Then up to the big break with good gear. Managed to slide in a RP5 as far as I could reach out left which appeared pretty solid but the traverse isnt as hard as it looks despite being on small dishes in the break. It's the top that spooked me a bit, you have to make a sort of 4b move with gear below your feet and then continue up easily. Nice climb.

Of my many ascents of this - this was the most gripping in gail force winds, each move had to be timed precisely and even belaying on top was a missin as the wind wanted to blow me backwards i had to griip the rock for dear life.
