As intimidating as my attempt on the lead. Gaining the shelf is the easy part (short arses crossover dont match tenuous but keeps the friction over ur right foot). Definately recommend a stiff shoe and small cams for the upper wall.

Didn't use the rib, on the first attempt and fall going to the top from chipped pocket. Hard for HVS without small gear, top section would be really bold. Used rib second go, still felt very bold.

The moves up to the slab are good value for HVS/5a, but it's the top arete that is difficult; tenuous traverse to the arete, tiny gear and powerful moves to the top. Worth E1/5b IMO. Harder than most of the E2s I've done and therefore not fair on most VS/HVS leaders! Lovely climb despite that.

Ass whipped. Should have gone for it first time up the crack to the slab. Hung around instead and got seriously pumped which made finishing even harder.

Got it properly on second after failing to lead. Found it very powerful getting round the bulge on to the ledge at the top of the crack and backed off. The top of the arete is also hard - difficult HVS.
