A comedy of errors you might say. Beautiful first and last pitches, shame about the lower quality in the middle. I led pitch one, three and half of four up the wrong (right) side of the crack, and seven. Chester pitch 2, real second half of four and ran it into pitch 5, we both just walked across pitch 6. The comedy came in the form of my ankle just giving way so i dropped straight down with no warning (good gear held), guessing the route without guidebook, and clipping half ropes accidently so they crossed as the route didn't go where expected. An enjoyable climb

The downpour stated as the last one of us reached the final pitch, scrambled to the ab point in a waterfall, set up our ab in another waterfall, helped some lads from before unjam their ropes, in a waterfall, abbed off (the driest bit) and walked down the path that was an inch deep in running water.

Brilliant! The first and last pitches are the most challenging. Pitch one is quite polished, especially the first half so deserves a bit of respect. The same applies to the last pitch, which is probably the hardest part of the route. Great exposure though and some seroius run-outs to be had on the easier middle pitches. Watch out for that descent path though!

My first trad climb, first slab, first multi-pitch, first Abb. What a climb to start on, Fantastic! Jamie and Rich sung leads, with me following up as a second on all pitchs. A little route reading problem meant we initialy climbed the wrong route on the last pitch. Having realised our mistake, abbed down and climbed it properly for the route tick. Absolutly great views out over the Cwm, spolit a a little on a generally quit day by a party of rather laoud school kids on a geography field trip. Having changed out of my raock shoes into my walking boots found the scramble out quite intresting.
