First climb at Avon Gorge. Sunday morning traffic noise & wind made communication a bit difficult. Me P1 to ledge below and to right of flake.Lee P2 to next decent ledge by ivy. Me P3. Lots of polish on the chimney made ascent a bit awkward. After that felt a bit exposed in parts but fair protection and good holds to finally a good ledge and anchors. Lee led last pitch but in hindsight we could have scrambled to the trees.Remember to take money for ice cream van at top.Great view. Walked back down path.

Overnight rain hadn't dried which made the first two pitches a little more interesting. The chimney was better with beta and the fourth pitch was awesome again - especially as it wasn't getting dark! Finally found the right top out too.

An almost perfect mini- expedition. Taking counsel of that wise old sage St Steve the Healer led the ever intrepid Jimb0 and I to venture, one unseasonably warm evening after work, onto this fine line, wending our way up sun warmed slabs and flakes, lightly polished cracks and corners, and abundantly furnished stances and belays. Deviously mixing descriptions in the Avon and South West Climbs guides resulted in five pitches, and so passing all the [though minor] difficulties to Jimb0. Street lights and headlights on the A40, and that perennially festive Clifton bridge, surprisingly atmospheric as dusk fell on our final moves. A scramble back through the woods in the dark, to the car, and picnic on crisps and Fanta.

Also missed the first belay spot and contiuned in my incorrect path and ended up at the 2nd belay spot but on the left, tricky getting up there from that side. i think i need to work on reading the guidebook....
