45m. P1 30m 4b. Right side of Withy Crack slab, below the lowest tongue of rock. Follow the line of saplings to belay on a hawthorn on the upper slab.
P2 15m 4c. Climb up left to reach cracks in the steepening headwall; then climb the leftmost of these to the top.

To wet to get from ledge at the end of pitch 1 into the crack on pitch 2. Wet leaves made for a fun and interesting battle against the smooth headwall below the crack. Not too upset off as I have done it twice before.

Done in one pitch, which created enough drag to lift out some of my gear towards the top (for added spice). Very nice climbing on the headwall, although I am not convinced I followed the correct line. I assumed the top belay was the ash tree - I only noticed the hawthorn off to the right when I was at the top - and I had to climb rightwards up a slab to the start of a diagonal crack all the way to get to the obvious vertical crack. Some of the blocks in the top crack are not particularly permanent - I could feel the crag below my feet vibrate when my second was taking out gear several metres below!

Was getting dark and Rob said he would give me 10 if I was able to second this in under 4 minutes so after a ready set go I was off, unfortunately my speed attempt was stopped after reaching a stuck wire at 2/3 height.

How does this get an HVS grade? Easy slab past the trees is S at best, only the short upper wall presents a challenge, and it's very well protected, very short, impossible to go off route, at best three or four moves and you're there. Compared with HVSs like Desecrator and Hell Gates at Avon and Thor at Cheddar this one probably barely merits an HS.
