The Guilt Edge** 7c

Rockfax Description
The arete above the initial wall of Prisoner of Conscience extends the quality climbing. Start just right of the large block.
Follow Prisoner of Conscience to the good break. The hanging arete above has some perplexing moves that gain easier but bold climbing rightwards to a lower-off. © ROCKFAX

UKC Logbook Description
From the resting ledge on Prisoner of Conscience climb the bulging arete on the right to jugs. Pull on to a juggy wall and traverse right to finish at the Bullworker lower-off.

Oh yeah, BOOM! 2rp today after previous day working.
eddieclimb - Lead RP - 28/Jun/15 with Dan Webber

Third go of the session (after dropping it from the last hard move on the second). Pleased to get it done - it's taken me longer than any other project to date but the process was mostly enjoyable! As expected, it all just fell into place on the successful attempt, leaving me wondering what all the fuss was about.

Undercut on Prisoner was seeping. Still managed to link through it shortly after thorough drying but fell off upper crux. Discovered a minor beta tweak and climbed all the way to the (Bullworker) chains to avoid any surprises.
Nick Russell - Lead dog - 30/Jan/15 with Thom Jenkinson

Progress... Climbed through the upper crux to jugs above final bolt but too low on skin/energy/psyche to get through start of Prisoner.
Nick Russell - Lead dog - 10/Jan/15

I have a plausible sequence, but it's not easy!
Nick Russell - Lead dog - 02/Jan/15

The perplexing moves are in fact perplexing. Got some ideas though.
Nick Russell - Lead dog - 19/Dec/14

Didn't like it at first but then ending up loving it, apart from the lack of belay bolts. using bullworker makes it a bitch to strip.

Hardest 7c at Brean in my opinion!
Ellis Butler-Barker - Lead RP - 16/Mar/14 with Charlotte Warner

send 2nd go, proper good route, maybe the most under rated route at Brean. Unlike most Brean routes, this is solid at 7c. fantastic moves at the top and exciting run out

A layaway has broken, making the first moves a little harder.
Paul Robertson - Lead dog - 28/Aug/08 with Guy Percival

Linked the crux of Prisoner twice. Linked the top section with the top bolt clipped.
Paul Robertson - Lead dog - 08/Aug/08 with Mark Courtiour

linked in two overlapping sections.
Paul Robertson - Lead dog - 22/Jul/08 with Guy Percival

Well, lead it with the top bolt preclipped. Linked the crux (of Prisoner of Conscience) again though
